The Select the Best Mic Flow brings an AI-assisted approach to dialogue editing in Pro Tools, automatically analyzing multi-mic recordings to determine where each track sounds best.

Powered by SoundFlow's SFX Framework and built directly into Pro Tools, it intelligently compares all mic sources, selects the optimal audio, and mutes the rest — saving editors valuable time while keeping full creative control in their hands.

In actions

How to use the Select the Best Mic - Flow

  1. Open your Pro Tools session containing multi-mic dialog tracks (eg, boom, lav1, lav2 etc.)

  2. Open the SoundFlow panel via the right-side panel of Pro Tools or from the Window > SoundFlow menu item

  3. Locate "Select the Best Mic" directly in the SoundFlow panel and click it to start the Flow

  4. Create a timeline selection spanning over multiple clips and tracks

  1. Click "Run" to begin the mic analysis and automatic muting process
  1. Play back the audio to review the selected "best mic" results
