Improved Strip Silence

Improved Strip Silence builds on the Strip Silence package by Mark Abrams adding better error handling and Batch Fade presets

Previously I've shared a few updates of Mark Abrams script on Strip Silence script sharing forum, but with the addition of the Batch Fade preset selection and further error handling it now requires its own package.

Improved features:

  • **Should resolve the Strip Silence Window minimizing bug **by moving Strip Silence Window

  • Returns 'Link Track and Edit Selection' button to its original state after processing

  • Reselects the selected/stripped tracks after processing

  • Selects only Audio Tracks - deselects Folders, Auxes etc, enabling bulk selection of tracks without errors

  • Minor error handling, it should deal with: Fade length exceeding bounds message, no audio being present on track or selected, clips created with only one boundary (resulting in Crossfade window instead of Batch Fade window)

  • Adds Batch Fade Preset selection, allowing preferred Batch Fade preset to be applied using the ProTools 1 - 5 Preset buttons in top left of Batch Fade window (needs to be saved prior to use)

Defaults to Batch Fade preset #2 in Batch Fade window

How to use:

Setup an 'Improved Strip Silence' Preset

  • Use or copy the provided Presets to adjust the Strip Silence parameters to your preferred settings.

  • Choose to Target either whole track or just a selection.

  • Choose which Batch Fade preset to apply to stripped audio (create preferred settings in the Batch Fade window and save the preset you wish to use beforehand)

Then run the Preset, having selected tracks or a selection to strip.

I have also included a few useful presets.

How do I get Improved Strip Silence?

Improved Strip Silence  is a package built on the SoundFlow platform. To get it, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign up as a new SoundFlow user if you don't already have an account.

  2. Install the SoundFlow app on your Mac.

  3. Open up the SoundFlow app, click the "Store" tab

  4. Locate the 'Improved Strip Silence' package by searching in the search field.

  5. Click the Install button.
