Loran's Automatic UCS Clip Color Coder:BETA

made by Loran Keuning**,*** lorankeuning.com*

Automatically colors Pro Tools clips based on the UCS category assigned to that sound. Use it in the spotting phase as a sound effects editor or to create a a more clear overview as a mixer. Know at at glance where your water sounds are located or where you can find your busy city sounds.

If you like this package, the biggest way of thanking me is spreading my name around a bit. I'm still at the starting phase of my career as a sound designer and i'm looking for more work!

Short User Guide

This script works together with a CSV file. In this CSV file the UCS category's are located together with the colorcode information. Run** Loran's UCS Config Setup **first to get started with setting up the CSV file.

I have already assigned some colors to the UCS category's but you're free to assign them however you prefer. There's multiple tools in this package available for editting and looking at this list but you can alternatively also use a excel dropdown list to get started found here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1-qAuPMpmrI_BfPnRf-9At4aPsggYqOko?usp=sharing

After you've done the setup you can simply select some clips in Pro Tools and run the main script called: **Loran's Main UCS Clip Color Coder. **If the clip-names are UCS formatted and there are colors assigned to those category's, the clip colors will change automatically to the assigned colors.

This is a first BETA package so expect some bugs

Known bugs:

  • Main script tries to include hidden and inactive tracks. This break the script sometimes

  • Soundminer features are atm mac only

  • The updater surface doesn't work if run by external devices
