Automate your use of splitS in Pro Tools

The package consists of a button and two main scripts and a set of 4 scripts meant to work together

splitS - button

Simply copy the button by clicking on it and hitting ⌘C and paste it by clicking an empty slot on your custom surface and hitting ⌘V

splitS - insert to AudioSuite Render

Convert the first active instance of splitS inserted on the selected track to its AudioSuite counterpart, render onto a new playlist and inactivate the splitS insert

If [option] is pressed while launching the script, the render will happen on the current playlist

If [cmd] is pressed while launching the script, the render will be applied to the existing timeline selection only

splitS - render Non-S and S on new tracks

Duplicate the selected track twice, render the Non-S channel on the first duplicate, render the S channel on the second duplicate, and inactivate the original track.

splitS - AudioSuite utilities

Workflow

Sibilances might not all need the same level of reduction throughout the track.

If you inserted splitS on your vocal track but want to fine deal with sibilances on a specific portion of the vocal, you can capture the settings of the instance of splitS present on the track, paste them onto it's AudioSuite counterpart, change the level of the S fader and render the AudioSuite.

splitS' ability to fully preserve 100% signal integrity outside of the S level change allows you to do timeline selections without worrying about being to precise, as long as the targeted sibilance is contained within it.

splitS - insert to AudioSuite capture (detection settings)

Convert the detection settings of the first instance of splitS inserted on the selected track to its AudioSuite counterpart

If [option] is pressed while launching the script, the S fader value will be set the same as the insert instance of splitS

splitS - S Level + 1 dB

Increment the **S fader **value by 1 dB

splitS - S Level - 1 dB

Decrement the **S fader **value by 1 dB

splitS - render splitS AudioSuite

Render the current splitS AudioSuite window

splitS is not a de-esser, but rather a straightforward and effective vocal editing tool with mixing capabilities.

It splits a vocal track between sibilance and non-sibilance in the fastest way possible while leaving the signal absolutely intact if no volume change is applied. No compression, no EQ, no crossover.

splitS was developed in close collaboration with Swiss mixer Thomas "Mister T." Gloor.

How do I get splitS by apulSoft - Official package?

splitS by apulSoft - Official package is a package built on the SoundFlow platform. To get it, please follow these steps:

Sign up as a new SoundFlow user if you don't already have an account.
Install the SoundFlow app on your Mac.
Open up the SoundFlow app, click the "Store" tab
Locate the 'splitS by apulSoft - Official package' package by searching in the search field.
Click the Install button.
