Sree - Dolby Atmos

Sree - Dolby Atmos

This is a collection of Scripts that I use when prepping for Dolby Atmos

I've modified the script to check for Dolby Atmos Renderer Remote as well. Check out the package Sree - Pro Tools Editing for more Surround scripts.

Update: V 2.1.1

  1. I've reworked the renamer so that you can make sure the bus name field is editable. For this as soon as you click OK on the message that pops up, make sure you are in the bus tab and double click the bus name to from which it has to begin naming so that the text field is editable.

  2. I've added a new RMU Speaker Management that will help with muting and soloing of selected speakers. The RMU app has to be full screen for this. (You can hold Option and click on the Green Expand button that will change to a + sign in the top left side of the Renderer Window).

  3. I've refactored the Renderer control to work as templates. This is more efficient and cleaner.

  4. I've added a Spanner to Object Converter Template as well. For this, make sure your Object Auxes are lined below the track that contains the Spanner Plugin. So if you have a 5.1 Spanner Plugin on a track, you need to have 5 mono auxes assigned to the objects placed below that. (So that pan data on L on the Spanner track is sent to one object, C is another etc.). Make a selection on the Spanner track for the automation you need to convert. Then run the appropriate Preset. This will intelligently find the spanner insert and copy the relevant X, Y and Z pan into the corresponding Front Pos, Rear Pos, F/R pos and Height Pos on your object track and iterates through until all of the L, C, R etc automation is pasted appropriately. It will skip the LFE in Spanner since Objects have no LFE. Have fun! This will accept width values from 5.0 all the way till 9.1.6.

Pro Tools Output / Bus Renamer

This can be used either in the Output Tab or the Bus Tab. Choose if you want to rename your Mono Bus, Mono Output, Stereo Bus or Stereo Output for Dolby Atmos in Pro Tools. Then enter the name, say FX or DX or Foley etc, and the Start and End number. It wil do the rest for you.

Reset Output to 0dB

Assign this to a keyboard trigger (eg. F15) and on pressing, it will set the renderer to 0dB

Volume and Pan

This command will set your volume and Pan to a predetermined value or an algorithmic value. There are 2 sets of factory presets in this. One will not write automation but will set the values and is good if you are setting starting points. The other will write automation and is good if you are in the middle of a mix. The Pan only will not write volume automation or set values in the volume, and vice versa. It does this by disabling the respective modes in the automation window and then reenabling it to the original setting once done. When you have both enabled for writing, it will do so.

There are 2 special modes here. In the volume, if you set the volume value to "ask" (without the inverted commas but in all small), it will prompt you for the volume level needed to be set. In the Pan, if you set the height to "spread", and choose a set of mono tracks, it will create a spread pan across it by an algorithm that I use for my logic. If you select a bunch of stereo tracks, it will do a triangular distribution across the front to back.
