CUE Controller ends real-time OSC messages to CUE Controller when Pro Tools starts/stops recording. Toggle ON/OFF with a single hotkey.

Pro Tools Recording Monitor for CUE Controller This script monitors Pro Tools recording state and sends real-time OSC messages to CUE Controller for visual CUE signaling in recording studios.

Features

Real-time Recording Detection: Monitors Pro Tools transport to detect recording start/stop

OSC Communication: Sends messages to CUE Controller on localhost:9000

Smart Heartbeat: Sends heartbeat every 500ms to indicate script is running

State Change Detection: Only sends OSC messages when recording state changes (not continuously)

Toggle Activation: Run the script to toggle monitoring ON/OFF

Background Execution: Runs continuously in background with 50ms polling interval

Usage

Assign this script to a hotkey in Soundflow

Press the hotkey to toggle Pro Tools monitoring ON/OFF

CUE Controller (in OSC Mode) will automatically respond to recording events

CUE Controller app running in OSC Mode (listening on port 9000)

Pro Tools with accessible transport controls

This script is designed to work with CUE Controller - a professional visual CUE system for recording studios. When Pro Tools starts recording, CUE Controller displays a visual signal (flash or steady) to notify talent in the booth. Recommended Setup:

Set CUE Controller to OSC Mode

Configure this script's hotkey in Soundflow

Optionally set the same hotkey as "Soundflow Toggle Hotkey" in CUE Controller for auto-start/stop

How do I get CUE Controller_Soundflow?

CUE Controller_Soundflow  is a package built on the SoundFlow platform. To get it, please follow these steps:

  1. Sign up as a new SoundFlow user if you don't already have an account.

  2. Install the SoundFlow app on your Mac.

  3. Open up the SoundFlow app, click the "Store" tab

  4. Locate the 'CUE Controller_Soundflow' package by searching in the search field.

  5. Click the Install button.
